SaaS UI Audit for B2B Products

Most founders know their product has design problems. They're not sure which ones matter, which to fix first, or whether the problem is the design or the product. A SaaS UI audit answers all three.

SaaS products accumulate design debt the same way they accumulate technical debt — incrementally, during each sprint, as features are added faster than design consistency can keep up. The result is a product where the onboarding flow doesn't match the dashboard, the design system exists in Figma but not in the product, and the information hierarchy reflects the order features were built, not the order users need them. A UI audit is the diagnostic layer before the redesign — it identifies the specific problems (not 'it looks rough', but 'the primary CTA is below the fold on mobile and competes with three secondary actions'), prioritises them by user impact and engineering effort, and gives the founding team a clear roadmap. The audit prevents the most expensive design mistake: redesigning the wrong thing.

Frequently asked questions.

What does a SaaS UI audit cover?+
A comprehensive UI audit covers six areas: (1) Information hierarchy — is the most important content visually dominant on each screen? (2) Navigation — can users find what they need without trial and error? (3) Onboarding — what is the activation path and where is the friction? (4) Data presentation — for dashboard-heavy products, is data displayed in a format that enables decisions or just displays numbers? (5) Empty and error states — are these designed or left as engineering defaults? (6) Mobile experience — does the product work on mobile, and does it need to?
How is a UI audit different from a design redesign?+
An audit is diagnostic. A redesign is treatment. The audit tells you exactly what's wrong and in what priority order. The redesign fixes it. Many founders jump to redesign before audit and end up redesigning the wrong things — the homepage when it's actually the onboarding, or the dashboard when it's actually the empty state design that's killing activation. An audit ensures design investment is applied where it has the most impact.
What output does a UI audit produce?+
A written audit report covering each screen or flow in scope, with specific identified problems, their user impact, and recommended fixes. We annotate the actual product screenshots — not generic UX principles, but specific issues on your specific UI. We also prioritise the findings by impact (how many users does this affect and how often?) and effort (how complex is the fix?) so you have a clear implementation roadmap.
How long does a SaaS UI audit take?+
A focused audit (marketing site + onboarding + core product) typically takes 3–5 business days. A comprehensive audit of a complex product (enterprise SaaS with multiple user roles and a large feature set) takes 7–10 days. The audit is delivered as a Loom video walkthrough plus a written report — both are immediately actionable.
Should I do an audit before starting the redesign subscription?+
Many founders start with an audit to establish clear priorities, then transition into the subscription to execute the recommendations. The audit cost is credited toward the first month of the subscription. Alternatively, the subscription itself starts with an informal audit — we review your product at kickoff and prioritise the first month's work accordingly.
