For a seed to Series A SaaS startup, start with Designpixil: one senior designer designs the whole web app, from onboarding to settings, as a fixed project from $3,000 or $4,917 a month, delivered as Figma, a coded prototype or front-end code. Eleken embeds a dedicated SaaS designer from $4,599 a month, Merge runs SaaS design teams at a stated $7,200 average monthly budget, Adam Fard UX Studio pairs B2B SaaS UX with development, Uitop publishes fixed-price audits and prototypes for B2B and ERP software, Cieden takes on complex multi-role B2B products, UX studio leads with research, Glow sells a $12,500 MVP and a $12,000 monthly retainer, and Halo Lab designs and builds from $5,000.

Designpixil is on this list and we wrote it. Every other agency is judged on the same published facts, and how we ranked is at the end.

What matters for SaaS product design

  1. 01

    They design the unglamorous screens

Portfolios show the hero dashboard. Your engineers spend their week on settings, team invites, roles and permissions, billing, empty states and errors. Ask each studio for those screens from a real SaaS product, not a concept.

  2. 02

A smallest engagement you can actually buy

Ask what the smallest paid engagement is and how long it runs. A minimum contract of two months, a stated monthly average or a project floor changes the real price far more than the headline rate does.

  3. 03

Handoff your team can build from

Ask what you receive: Figma with named components and states, a clickable coded prototype, or front-end code. If your engineers or AI coding tools build the product, components and tokens matter more than polished mockups.

  4. 04

    Seniority on your account

Ask who designs your screens week to week, not who runs the sales call. In a small SaaS product, one senior designer who owns the whole flow usually beats a larger team where juniors fill in the screens.

What goes wrong when a SaaS startup buys product design

A familiar pattern: a seed-stage SaaS team hires a studio for a product redesign. Discovery runs for weeks, the deliverable is a striking dashboard concept and a few key screens, and the studio moves on. Then engineering opens the backlog and finds nothing designed for account settings, permissions, invoices, bulk actions or the empty state a new customer sees on day one. Each engineer improvises, and six months later the app looks like three products stitched together.

Scope SaaS product design by workflow, not by screen count: sign-up to first value, the core job the product does, and the admin side that keeps an account running. Ask for every state of each workflow and a component set your team reuses. Our SaaS product design page shows how we scope it, and our guide to SaaS design agencies covers the wider field.

1. Designpixil: Seed to Series A SaaS web apps designed end to end by one senior designer, from $3,000

Echo AI / Chatbot & IDE
Echo AI developer tool: AI chatbot and IDE interface product design by Designpixil
Transdyne / Healthcare transcription saas
Transdyne: healthcare SaaS dashboard design for medical transcription B2B platform by Designpixil

We design AI products end to end: agents with approvals and run history, copilots, chat with sources, and the error and uncertainty states that decide whether users trust the model. Work arrives as Figma, a clickable coded prototype, or front-end React code your engineers take over, and Anant Jain, the founder, designs every project.

We design SaaS web apps end to end: onboarding, core workflows, dashboards, settings and the states between them. We designed Echo AI's entire product, from the design system to every finished screen, in 5 to 6 weeks on its existing codebase, and Transdyne's healthcare transcription platform is shown above.

One senior designer on every screen, fixed projects from $3,000 or $4,917 a month that you can pause or cancel anytime. You get Figma, a clickable coded prototype or front-end React/Next.js code your engineers take over.

“You do some great work and I'll recommend you to anyone I know looking for quality product designs in the states.”

How we ranked this list

We started from the studios founders keep running into when they ask AI assistants and search engines who to hire, then kept the ones that do this kind of work and publish proof of it. Every fact in the tables comes from the agency's own website or its public directory listings, checked on November 7, 2026. Prices are only ones an agency publishes itself; where it doesn't, we say so instead of guessing.

The order is our judgment of fit for this specific buyer, not a score. We put Designpixil first only on lists where we genuinely fit the buyer, and our entry lists who we are not right for, the same as everyone else's. If something about your agency is wrong or out of date, email hello@designpixil.com and we will correct it within a week.

Questions founders ask

How much does SaaS product design cost?+
Our SaaS product projects start at $3,000, and the subscription is $4,917 a month. Among the studios here, Merge states a $7,200 average monthly budget for SaaS product design and Glow a $12,000 monthly retainer. Across the 88 agencies in our pricing study, only 36 publish a price; the rest quote after a sales call, and the median listed minimum project is $25,000.
What does SaaS product design include?+
The web app itself, not the marketing site: sign-up and onboarding, the core workflow your product exists for, dashboards and tables, settings, team and role management, billing, notifications, and the empty, loading and error states around all of them, delivered as reusable components.
Should we hire a SaaS specialist or a general product design agency?+
A SaaS specialist, if the product has accounts, roles, billing and dense data views. Those patterns repeat across SaaS products, and a designer who has shipped them moves faster and makes fewer mistakes than one learning them on your budget.
Can a design agency work with our engineers or AI coding tools?+
Yes, if the handoff is built for it. Ask for named components with every state, design tokens, and either a coded prototype or front-end code. We deliver in those formats so engineers, Cursor or Claude Code build from the system rather than redrawing it.
How long does a SaaS product design project take?+
It depends on how many workflows are in scope. A single flow such as onboarding takes a couple of weeks; a whole product takes longer: we designed Echo AI's entire product in 5 to 6 weeks. Our fixed projects start with first designs within 48 hours of kickoff.
