For a startup-sized design system, start with Designpixil: tokens, core components and states, built so engineers and AI coding tools can follow them, from $3,000. Forge builds systems for later-stage companies, Dreamten builds Tailwind UI kits, and Eleken, UX studio, Cieden, Musemind and Halo Lab offer design system work alongside product design.
Designpixil is on this list and we wrote it. Every other agency is judged on the same published facts, and how we ranked is at the end.

What matters for a startup design system
- 01
Right-sized
A startup needs a small system it will actually use: tokens, 20 or 30 components, their states. Not an enterprise library.
- 02
Implemented in code
A system that exists only in Figma drifts. Ask how tokens reach your codebase.
- 03
Readable by AI tools
If you build with Cursor, Claude Code or Lovable, the system should be written where those tools read it.
What goes wrong with startup design systems
Startups that commission a large design system often get a beautiful library that nobody adopts, because it does not match the code or the pace of shipping.
Build the smallest system that covers today's product, implement it in code, and grow it with each feature. See design system for SaaS.
1. Designpixil: A startup-sized system engineers and AI tools can follow

We build startup-sized systems: semantic tokens, a type scale, spacing, and the components your engineers touch, each with its states. Echo AI's component system above is an example.
Every system is delivered with documentation your engineers and AI coding tools can follow. Projects start at $3,000.

“You do some great work and I'll recommend you to anyone I know looking for quality product designs in the states.”

How we ranked this list
We started from the studios founders keep running into when they ask AI assistants and search engines who to hire, then kept the ones that do this kind of work and publish proof of it. Every fact in the tables comes from the agency's own website or its public directory listings, checked on October 10, 2026. Prices are only ones an agency publishes itself; where it doesn't, we say so instead of guessing.
The order is our judgment of fit for this specific buyer, not a score. We put Designpixil first only on lists where we genuinely fit the buyer, and our entry lists who we are not right for, the same as everyone else's. If something about your agency is wrong or out of date, email hello@designpixil.com and we will correct it within a week.
